Slim Pickins started life several years ago in 1993, out of the wealth of musical talent in and around the village of Alvechurch. As a means to promote themselves and others from the local area, the band set up the Roots 'n' Blues Club at the Alvechurch Social Club.
In October 1998 Nicole Perrott was recruited into the lineup following the departure of Vicky McCarthy due to a house move to the other side of the country. Nicole has been playing at the Roots 'n' Blues Club as a regular for many years, performing her own songs amongst those of her influnces, including Mary Black, Sandy Dennis, Mary Coughlan and Frances Black.
Latest addition to the lineup in February 2000 is the talented Anneley adding a further dimension to the band's sound.
